the Year Award FREEHOLD, N.J., April 9, 2018 – LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J., April 9, 2018 — Community Investment Strategies announced today it has been named the 2018 ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year – Multifamily High-Rise Developer recipient by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for its commitment to building high-quality, sustainable housing for its current residents and for future generations.

Since 1994, CIS has been building ENERGY STAR certified home. Our key accomplishments in 2017 include:

• Building 32 communities that are ENERGY STAR certified and using subcontractors that are trained in energy-efficient construction techniques and practices. • Building 2 high-rise communities using the EPA Multifamily High-Rise Program. • Committed to energy benchmarking the entire portfolio over the next year. • Implementing quality management programs while shortening construction schedules and saving money. • Building in locations across New Jersey that are typically underserved, with a focus on thoughtful design and development.

In 2016 alone, ENERGY STAR certified products, homes, buildings, and plants helped Americans save over $30 billion in energy costs and approximately 400 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity while also achieving broad emissions reductions.
