CIS Management, Inc., the property management affiliate of Community Investment Strategies (CIS), Inc., a developer and builder of apartment-rental communities throughout New Jersey, received nine (9) awards, at the 28th Annual Garden State Awards Gala held at Ocean Place Resort and Spa in Long Branch, N.J. including the prestigious Management Company of the Year (Affordable) Award.
Sponsored by the New Jersey Apartment Association (NJAA), the Garden State awards recognize achievement among leaders in the rental housing industry. “The caliber of this year’s winners is a true reflection of the level of professionalism our members bring to New Jersey’s apartment industry,” said David Brogan, Executive Director of NJAA. He continued, “This award is direct recognition of CIS Management’s commitment to resident satisfaction and professionalism.”

Three CIS properties won in the Curb Appeal category: Heritage Village at Bloomfield, an 82-unit, active adult community in Bloomfield, NJ; Heritage Village at Oakhurst, a newly opened, 93-unit, active adult community in Ocean Township, NJ; and The Gardens at Birmingham, a 48-unit multifamily community in Ewing Township.
Heritage Village at Bloomfield also won in the Green Building category. A certified ENERGY STAR® Multifamily High-Rise building, the community features state-of-the-art resiliency features including high quality durable exteriors; hurricane rated, impact resilient windows; a superior insulation and weather barrier system; an energy efficient ventilation system; LED lighting; an emergency generator, as well as a bathroom and shower that are accessible during times of extended power loss.
In addition, four CIS Management staff members won individual awards – Joseph Gotti, controller; Michael Randolph, maintenance supervisor; Jennifer Smyth, regional supervisor manager; and Alice Ringus, senior property manager. “To be recognized by NJAA is a big deal in our industry,” said Jennifer Smyth. “They are New Jersey’s premier trade organization for the multifamily rental market with a collective voice of over 400 companies.”
